MN Bin Bath trash can cleaning service

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can you summarize the process for me?

    Certainly!

    1) You sign up for the service plan of your choice.  You can sign up on our website here, or give us a call and we can take care of it over the phone with you.  When first signing up through our website, an account will get created for you in our customer portal where you can track your service dates, access our customer referral program, buy gift cards, and more.

    2) We will add you to our schedule and inform you of the expected date of your service.  It will always be one day after your regularly scheduled garbage services.  On rare occasions, we may make it to your site on the same day.  This is not the expected norm, however.

    3) It's your job to leave your bin(s) outside until after we have cleaned it!

    4) The day before and the day of, you will receive a message notifying you of your upcoming service.  You will also receive a message after we have completed your cleanings.

It truly is as simple as that to experience the MN Bin Bath difference.

  • Why do I need professional cleaning services?

    • Our powerful 200-degree water cleaning process sterilizes harmful bacteria that DIY methods often leave behind, such as E. coli, Salmonella, Strep and Tuberculosis.  We disinfect, sanitize, and deodorize your bins each visit.
    • Our services ensure an effective, safe clean every time, eliminating wastewater runoff.
    • We're going to use less water than you would if you tried it yourself.  We will typically use 3-5 gallons the first time we clean your bin, and likely 1-3 gallons any visit after the first one.  Most estimates suggest DIY bin cleaners will use 20+ gallons of water.
    • It flat out saves you time.  You don't need to be home when we do it, you don't need to spend your valuable free time lugging cumbersome bins in weird positions trying to awkwardly spray a hose inside it, while getting splashed in the process and likely not doing all that great of a job while potentially allowing harmful chemicals to reach your landscape and sewers.  Let us do your dirty work, you've got a life to live!
  • How often should I have my trash bins cleaned?

For the best results, most industry professionals recommend monthly cleaning.  We'd love to tell you a monthly clean is a must for everyone, but we've found for a majority of people, once every 10-12 weeks is adequate for maintaining a pleasant bin.  That said, each person will have their own cleanliness standards -- some people have many dogs and dirty diapers; some people's bags regularly spill out stinky-moldy-rotten food.

  • Is the cleaning process environmentally friendly?

Our high-temperature pressure washing system is designed to clean thoroughly without leaving any wastewater behind.  Our eco-friendly cleaning products break down naturally and are all Green Seal-certified, ensuring no negative impact on your home or business.  Finally, we transport and responsibly dispose of all wastewater according to local regulations.  Our service is like a dishwasher for your bins, relying on 200-degree water and ultra-high pressured 3000 PSI power.

  • DO YOU USE HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS?

No.  We do use an eco-friendly, biodegradable deodorizer that contains natural essential oils to effectively neutralize odors.  On occasion (and often for first time bin cleaning) we may also use a biodegradable degreaser.

  • Will the cleaning process cause any damage to my property?

Our process is crafted to clean your bins without creating any mess on your driveway or property. Our trained team ensures that your home looks just as it did when we arrived—except your trash bins will be cleaner!

  • A BUNCH OF PEOPLE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD ALL WANT THIS SERVICE, BUT WE LIVE IN A CITY OUTSIDE YOUR SERVICE ZONE. WILL YOU MAKE AN EXCEPTION?

If you live in a location we don't currently service and want us to, feel free to email us at sales@mnbinbath.com to let us know where you are, or give us a call at (651) 382-6720.  We will take a look and see if we can work out a solution.  Let us know as much information as possible, such as how many people/bins, address, desired frequency.

Typically, at about 10-12 interested addresses is when we will explore driving longer distances; though depending on the distance, we may have to add on an additional travel fee.

  • How do I sign up for services?

Scheduling your regular trash bin cleaning service is simple: just choose the plan that works for you, and we'll take care of everything else!

  • CAN I GIFT A CLEANING TO A FRIEND OR NEIGHBOR?

Absolutely!  We love to encourage the gift of clean garbage cans.  As long as the recipient is within our cleaning routes, we are happy to spread the gift of bin cleanliness.  Please contact us at info@mnbinbath.com or give us a call at (651) 382-6720.

  • MY BIN WASN'T ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS AFTER MY SERVICE. WHY?

On occasions, some cans are EXTREMELY dirty and it can take a few cleanings to fully remove the built-up grime from these bins that haven't been cleaned in several years.  Please note that some stains, such as paint or dried tar cannot be removed completely by our cleaning services.

  • WHY IS ONCE A YEAR CLEANING SO MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE?

We've found that infrequently cleaned bins take extra time, water, and our degreaser.  Additionally, the cost of gas, equipment wear and tear, and time on the road all add up fast, so for us to economically offer an annual cleaning, this is the going rate it takes.  We still don't think it's that bad when you compare it to costing $200+ just to get an electrician or plumber to step foot in your house, but that's just us, and admittedly, we're biased 😊.

  • IF I MISS MY SERVICE DATE BECAUSE OF MY MISTAKE, WILL YOU RESCHEDULE MY SERVICE DAY?

With the volume of business and routes scheduled in different communities on particular days, if one of our techs arrive at your home and your bins cannot be serviced, you will NOT receive a refund.  If you need to cancel or reschedule a service date, please give us as much notice as you're able to, so we can try to reschedule you for another week.

We will send you a reminder text and email the day before your scheduled service, and you will know the date of your upcoming service well in advance of it.

We get that sometimes things happen, life gets busy; whatever.  We're happy to work with you and make sure your bins get cleaned. Just reach out to us about scheduling unavailabilities before day of service.

  • ARE YOU LICENSED AND INSURED?

Yes, we carry comprehensive commercial coverage and liability.

  • CAN YOU WORK WITH HOAs?

Absolutely!  HOAs are a perfect match for our services.  We are happy to drive outside of our posted service range for any type of bulk cleaning.  Please email sales@mnbinbath.com to start a conversation, or give us a call at (651) 382-6720.

  • DO YOU WORK DIRECTLY WITH WASTE HAULERS?

Of course!  Email us at sales@mnbinbath.com, or give us a call at (651) 382-6720.

  • Do you guarantee your work?

YES!! 1000%!!  If for ANY reason you are not satisfied with the condition of your bin after we have provided you with service, please let us know.

We will come wash it again for free.  If you still aren't satisfied, we will happily refund you your money.

We're proud of the work we do, but if you are not happy, we are not happy.
